III CONVOCATORIA INTERNACIONAL MORADA SÓNICA

(JUNIO 2026 – DICIEMBRE 2026)

3rd MORADA SÓNICA INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL

(JUNE 2026 – DECEMBER 2026)

3rd INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ENTRIES FOR SOUND MORADA 2026

METROPOLIS — SOUNDS FOR A MECHANICAL CITY
A SONIC TRIBUTE TO THE FILM METROPOLIS

To mark the centenary of the creation and premiere of METROPOLIS (1926–1927), Fritz Lang’s visionary cinematic masterpiece, MORADA SÓNICA launches its third international open call for sound artists, experimental musicians and creators from around the world.

Following our previous international open calls dedicated to Eduardo Polonio (Orient Express) and Jacques Tati (The Invisible Listening), this new edition invites participants to explore one of the most influential imaginary worlds in the history of cinema and modern culture.

This is not a call to rescore the film or reinterpret its original soundtrack. Instead, participants are invited to use METROPOLIS as a conceptual, visual and sonic catalyst for the creation of new works inspired by its many themes: industrial cities, mechanization of life, technological alienation, human crowds, impossible architectures, the relationship between humans and machines, speed, progress, surveillance, inequality and futuristic visions of society.

Although it belongs to the silent film era, METROPOLIS continues to evoke a vast acoustic universe of colossal factories, engines, gears, elevators, industrial rhythms, urban landscapes and human-machine interactions that still resonate powerfully a century later.

The resulting compilation will be released by Wet Dreams Records in both digital and physical formats (USB-Cassette Edition) and promoted internationally through MORADA SÓNICA and WDR networks.

All proceeds from the sale of the compilation, in both physical and digital formats, will be used exclusively to cover the costs of its editing, production, and distribution. Therefore, participation in this call for submissions does not entitle the authors of the works included in the compilation to any remuneration, royalties, or any other financial compensation.

Submissions will be accepted from June 1, 2026 until December 31, 2026.
